Kerala: BJP flexes muscles in Janaraksha Yatra, Yogi Adityanath to join today

Janaraksha Yatra against CPM's political killings will cover 42 kilometres in Kannur district alone.

Payyannur (Kannur): The BJP, which has grand plans for the state, is showing all its organizational might in the Janaraksha Yatra.

Apart from rallying leaders from the state and neighbouring Karnataka, leaders from across the country are coming down here to spearhead the campaign.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath will be the star attraction of the Yatra on October 4.

At the venue, Shah greeted each of the relatives of BJP/RSS workers who were killed allegedly at the hands of the CPM. Most of the leaders directly attacked the CPM, narrating how brutal the red party was in muzzling other parties’ organizational freedom.

The leaders alleged that the conscience of society remained silent when BJP workers were killed but created a hue and cry when members of other parties were killed. The thousands of workers who gathered at Payyannur cheered when leaders elaborated how the state of social reformers like Sree Narayana Guru and Ayyankali was turned into a ‘killing field’. Apart from the Yatra leader and BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan, K. Surendran, Shobha Surendran, A.N Radhakrishnan and A.T Ramesh will be in the Yatra team. As many as 300 volunteeers will be present full time in the yatra and they would walk 42 km in Kannur district alone.

BJP leaders V. Muraleedharan, C.K Padmanabhan, Union minister Alphonse Kannanthanam, MPs Richard Hay, Nalinkumar Kateel, Suresh Gopi, O. Rajagopal, MLA and C.K Janu were among others were present at the inauguration of the Yatra. It is understood that Bharat Dharma Jana Sena (BDJS) which has been at loggerheads with the BJP in the state has ironed out the differences and its workers are now expected to participate in the Yatra.
