BJP will be stronger in Andhra Pradesh than Telangana: P Muralidhar Rao
Hyderabad: BJP general secretary P. Muralidhar Rao said the BJP would become stronger in AP than in Telangana state, and play the role of the main Opposition.
Speaking to mediapersons on Tuesday Mr Muralidhar Rao said that the leaders of other parties were in touch with the BJP and would cross the floor soon. In Telangana state, the TRS is the first target and only the BJP has the guts to face him, he said.
He explained that the party in TS had two political challenges: One was to create confidence in the BJP and the other was to divert the Congress’ 29 per cent vote to the BJP. Mr Rao said only when the BJP took on the TRS would the Congress vote bank come to the BJP.
On the entry of former TN BJP chief Tamilisai Soundararajan to TS, Mr Muralidhar Rao said that if the party would lose if it tried to do politics using the Governor.
He said the caste card would work in AP but would not in TS. Mr Rao said that to explain the benefits of cancellation of Article 370, the BJP would hold 400 meetings nationwide, and one in every Lok Sabha constituency in TS.
