Minister rejects Naidu s claims on irrigation projects

TIRUPATI: Civil Supplies Minister Karumuri Nageswara Rao has rejected the allegations of TD chief Chandrababu Naidu vis-a-vis governmental "failures" on the irrigation front in Rayalaseema region. “Naidu is misleading the public,” he claimed.

Speaking to the media outside the Tirumala temple on Thursday, the minister said Naidu failed to provide irrigation water even to his own Kuppam constituency. He dismissed Naidu's claims of being a champion of the poor as “mere rhetoric.”

He accused the TD chief of consistently spreading falsehood against the YSRC government for political gains.

Nageswara Rao claimed that Jagan Mohan Reddy was leading the state on a path of development. “AP is on track to become the number-one state in the country,” he said and cited the state's top ranking in GDP and its third position in the field of education.
