Govt using volunteers to delete votes: Atchennaidu tells ECI

Visakhapatnam: TD state president K. Atchannaidu complained to the deputy commissioner of an EC-led delegation that the YSRC government used the services of ward and village volunteers for removing names from the voters lists. The delegation was in Visakhapatnam to study the progress of the special summary revision of electoral rolls for 2024.

Atchannaidu and political affairs committee chairman of TD Payyavlula Kesav called on the EC officials. Atchennaidu cited an instance of “father's name being the same for the 37 voters.” Kesav said, “The election commissioners have asked the state government not to use the services of volunteers for election work.”

Visakhapatnam East MLA and former MLA Gandi Babji were also present.
