Lessons for Gujarat MLAs on Congress' success in Karnataka

There is no restriction on their movement and they are hale and hearty, attending orientation programmes.

Bengaluru: After their visits to Ramanagara and nearby places, trying their hand at playing golf and attending orientation programmes, the Congress MLAs from Gujarat, who are housed at the Eagleton Resorts, will now get to learn more about Karnataka’s development.

KPCC president Dr G. Parameshwar who visited the resort Thursday and interacted with the legislators along with working president, Dinesh Gundu Rao, denied they were upset or ill.

“There is no restriction on their movement and they are hale and hearty, attending orientation programmes. We will tell them about the success of our government on Friday. Our attempt is to show the contrast between our development model and the BJP’s in Gujarat,” he told reporters.

He, however, admitted that one MLA, Jyotiba Patel, had fever and was treated at a private hospital. Meanwhile, two MLAs, Javed Peerzada and Paresh Dhansni alleged that Income Tax officials had intimidated them on Wednesday when they arrived to take Energy Minister D K Shivakumar.

“They told us what are you doing here, you should go back to Gujarat. But we are here for a cause. We will continue with our mission. Our leader, Ahmed Patel will win Rajya Sabha polls. We are sad for our host Mr Shivakumar,” they said.
