Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurates dinner diplomacy
Thiruvananthapuram: In a first of its kind initiative to strengthen the camaraderie among Cabinet colleagues, chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday hosted a lavish dinner for the ministers and their family members at his official residence Cliff House.
Apart from ministers, the chief secretary and DGP were also invited to the dinner. The dinner is aimed at facilitating a relaxed atmosphere for the ministers and their families to spend some time together and interact with each other.
Sources said the dinner party which started off from Cliff House, will be held at each minister’s official residence on the first Wednesday of each month. It will, however, be a completely private affair.
The event on Wednesday was out of bounds for the media. The organisers had covered the entire area where the dinner was taking place, with a white cloth. This was to prevent videographers and photographers from using their tele lens to capture images from a long distance.
