Hyderabad: Netizens take it out on Akbaruddin Owaisi
Hyderabad: A statement purportedly made by MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi had gone viral on social media and is eliciting adverse comment. In the clip, Mr Akbaruddin Owaisi, addressing a public meeting on Saturday night at the Old City, is heard alleging that that Parliament and Assemblies pass laws against Muslims.
He said that “people of VHP and Bajrang Dal, Narendra Modi listen: This country is not your father's property.” He said, “this country belongs to me as much as it belongs to you.”
He appealed to Muslims to unite while voting wherever they are in considerable number in constituencies across the country. Mr Akbaruddin Owaisi said that if Muslims were united they could easily win 50 seats in Parliament. He also appealed to leaders who had disassociated from the MIM to “forget the past” and work for strengthen the party.
Several netizens made adverse comments over Mr Akbaruddin Owaisi addressing the PM. Reacting to certain adverse remarks that were floating around on social media, his brother and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi tweeted: “Yes this “dog” is wafadar of India and will bark and bite any one who wants to make India a Hindu Rashtra and make minorities as second class citizens.”
