Vijayawada: The state government plans to govern from Amaravati capital region, but offices are being set up in different locations in the limits of seven mandals in Krishna district. Similarly, several offices have been proposed in Guntur city too.
This will result in difficulties in the coordination between the departments and administration for HODs. The employees and public who want to reach the offices for meeting the officials may face difficulties.
According to officials, the revenue (CCLA) department office building has been finalised at Gollapudi, which is on the outskirts of the city in Hyderabad National Highway stretch. Like-wise, building for commercial tax office has been proposed at Edpugallu in Kankipadu mandal in the stretch of Vijayawada-Machilipatnam.
The office of the cooperative department was finalised at Kankipadu. On the other hand, agriculture and marketing departments have been proposed at Guntur. Apart from this, the special teams of state government have selected almost 12 lakh square feet space for offices in seven mandals in the district.
Besides, several buildings in Mangalagiri, Tadepalli, Pedakakani and Guntur are also under scanner for setting up government offices. As per plans, buildings are required for nearly 110 HODs offices. But some buildings are available in various locations across the two districts. The situation may force the employees to go to various different locations.
One employees’ association leader on condition of anonymity, said that the offices in various locations would add to the diffficulties of the staff.
Coordination is needed between several departments before clearing the files and those should be circulated to other departments too for approval. How the work would be completed when government is setting up the offices in various locations, he added.
On the other hand, AP housing department project director V. Sarat Babu, who is handling the special teams said that the departments are not informing their confirmation though they selected the buildings. Now they made plans to identify the space available data and selected data differently, he added.
