Chandy, 12 others must keep off: Jose Kuttiyany
Kochi: Former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and 12 others should voluntarily stay away from leadership of Congress to save the party from a disaster, said Jose Kuttiyany, a former Congress MLA, who is currently staying away from active politics.
In a hard-hitting letter to KPCC president VM Sudheeran, which was released to the media on Friday, Mr. Kuttiyani has called for a party-level probe into the allegations against congress leaders including Mr. Chandy in connection with the solar scam.
“The party should be prepared with its own finding ahead of the judicial commission probing the scam submitting the report in August”, he said. Apart from Mr. Chandy Mr. Kuttiyany has placed leaders such as Aryadan Mohammad, Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, KC Venugopal, MP Anil Kumar, Adoor Prakash, Benny Behanan, PC Vishnunath and Hibi Eden under the shadow of the solar scam.
Mr. Kuttiyany said he along with like-minded individuals formed ‘Save Congress Forum’ with the intention of campaigning against the tainted leaders. The Forum had campaigned effectively in Tripunithura and Kochi and in both constituencies the congress candidates lost the polls, he pointed out. He presented a charter of seven points for the proposed leadership camp to be held on June 4 and 5 for analysing the reasons for the debacle.
