Telangana tells Andhra Pradesh official to vacate quarters
Hyderabad: The TS government has sent a notice to AP principal finance secretary P.V. Ramesh, asking him to vacate his quarters.
Mr Ramesh was informed that water and power supply to the quarters allotted to him by the government would be cut if he does not comply with the eviction notice. Mr Ramesh is staying in the quarters of Marri Channa Reddy Human Resource Development Institute in Jubilee Hills.
The MCHRDI has two quarters, the other one is presently occupied by TS principal finance secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao. After bifurcation notification was issued by the Centre, the then government, overseen by Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan, had divided the government buildings, officers’ quarters and others. It was decided at that time that those occupying government quarters from before June 1, 2014 can continue to stay there.
The institute is listed in the 10th Schedule of AP Reorganisation Act, meaning that both TS and AP have a share in it. The TS government had served the first notice to Mr Ramesh about six months ago. Some days later, the second notice was sent, but Mr Ramesh did not respond to it. On Tuesday, the third notice was sent.
