Get election ready, Jagan tells party coordinators

Vijayawada: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who reviewed the performances of MLAs, has conducted another review with YSRC regional coordinators on ways to strengthen the party for the Big Battle 2024.

Jagan Mohan Reddy asked the regional coordinators to resolve the internal issues in the party and address the issues of dissidence and solve them. Regional coordinators must talk to every MLA and be in continuous touch with the MLAs by conducting frequent meetings with them every week or in every 10 days.

The CM said, “Elections are only a year away. You should take ownership of the party as its regional coordinators of the party. It is your responsibility to strengthen the party’s base in the districts assigned to you. If there are deficiencies anywhere, they should be corrected and everyone should be brought together. Ultimately our candidates should get good majorities. With that goal in mind you must work with determination.”

The CM said, “As party coordinators, you can discuss anything with me and you can meet me anytime.”

“You are the top team for me in terms of party. There is a fine mechanism under the secretariat system in the form of conveners, housemasters (Gruha Saradhis) etc. Hence, volunteers should be attached with them. Take responsibility for supervision and coordination so that all those programmes are run smoothly and efficiently in the respective constituencies.”

You, me, the entire party apparatus must move forward together.”

Notably, four legislators revolted against the party and minister Ambati Rambabu and other leaders are facing trouble with the internal groups activities.

According to the sources, Jagan Mohan Reddy asked the regional coordinators not to neglect internal issues in view of the Big Battle 2024 and prepare all the cadres in the respective districts to enable them to remain in the poll mode.

Explaining about the Jagananne Maa Bhavishyattu-Maa Nammakam Nuvve Jagan mass interaction programme, he said regional coordinators will be responsible for the smooth performance of the mass interaction and to lead and follow the programme.

Stating that there are reports about differences between MLAs and other leaders in constituencies, he asked regional coordinators to unite them by clearing the rifts and differences by bringing the legislators and dissidence leaders on one platform or by conducting cordial meetings.

The issue of defeat in the Graduate constituencies election was discussed and the CM asked the regional coordinators to concentrate on the beneficiaries of YSRC welfare schemes as they are the deciding factors in the coming elections.

The CM asserted the need to pull the social media army on the active mode with elections to be conducted in a year’s time, and asked regional coordinators to take all measures to counter the fake news, lies and allegations of the Opposition parties.

The CM asked the regional coordinators to visit their respective districts and take the party activities and government welfare through MLAs, leaders and cadres into masses towards winning the Big Battle 2024.

Regional coordinators Botsa Satyanarayana, Y.V. Subba Reddy, P.V. Midhun Reddy, Marri Rajsekhar and others participated in the meeting.
