Thiruvananthapuram: With the LDF deciding to put up a strong fight against Rahul Gandhi in Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency, the state leadership of the CPM has decided to rework the campaign schedule of top leaders.
CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury who didn’t figure in the list of central leaders scheduled to address election meetings in Wayanad, will be the star campaigner for the party in the next leg. The state secretariat which met here decided to bring all top leaders to the constituency to campaign for the LDF candidate P. P. Suneer.
Apart from Yechury, Prakash Karat, Brinda Karat, S. Ramachandan Pillai, chief minister Pinaryi Vijayan and CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishna will campaign in Wayanad. National secretary of CPI D. Raja arrived in Wayanad on Wednesday.
CPI general secretary S. Sudhakar Reddy will be addressing a couple of election meetings on April 11. As per the earlier schedule, Yechury was to cover 17 constituencies. Now Wayanad has also been added to the list.
