BJP Andhra Pradesh unit wants to go soft on TD
Visakhapatnam: At a time when TD has decided to take a tough stand, the BJP’s state unit has decided to take a soft stance. Nonetheless, it would fight the allegations of the TD by keeping to the facts and presenting them to the public on various platforms. This was the decision taken after about four hours of discussion by around 11 people’s representatives including MLAs, MPs and MLCs of AP BJP who gathered at a city hotel here.
The discussion focused on the stance to be taken by BJP leaders in AP and the future course of action against TD’s alleged false propaganda against the BJP.
The national BJP Joint Organising Secretary Satishji and Organising Secretary Mr. Ravindra Raju chaired the meeting in which the BJP leaders raised many issues.
The Centre would take care of the status or package related demands while bifurcation promises, railway zone and other issues would be discussed in the Parliament, said the BJP State President and Vizag MP Mr. K Haribabu.
Some of the members said that Chief Minister, Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu was also indulging in mud-slinging games giving false information to the public. They also claimed that TDP was not giving due where it should, citing how there was no photo of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi at CII Partnership Summit and how also Visakha MP Haribabu was not invited for few inaugurations in the summit.
The leaders also brought up various issues in the meeting. The BJP floor leader in AP Assembly and who coordinated the meeting, Mr. P. Vishnu Kumar Raju alleged that TDP was trying to manipulate things to hide its failures. "To get votes, TDP is misleading the public with a well-planned propaganda," the Visakha North MLA Mr. Raju alleged. He further accused the TDP of joining the bandwagon of opposition parties that have been levelling allegations against BJP. Some of the TDP leaders have been misguiding the Chief Minister Mr. Naidu, he said.
The firebrand leader in BJP Mr. Somu Veerraju asked the CM to reveal why he was so impatient with the BJP after 2017. Naidu's stance was totally different pre-2017 but now it had taken another turn, he alleged. "Breaking or continuing the alliance with TDP is not in our hands. The national level leadership will take care of it. BJP is in power in 19 states of the country and our president Amit Shah has given assurance to the State about the various issues", Somu Veerraju told media persons.
The meeting was organised to corner the TD Government in the upcoming budget session over their governance. This was with regard to the funds utilized for various projects and the status of the major projects in the State which were undertaken with Union Government's funds.
