Bengaluru: Exactly a day after 'the Govindraju Diary' was seen as the catalyst for the scrapping of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's pet project, the steel flyover, it has now come to light that the CM's parliamentary secretary K. Govindaraju had filed a complaint at Indiranagar police station against 'unknown persons' who had allegedly created a diary and disclosed the contents to his rivals.
The Congress MLC had done so nearly a year after the IT raid on his residence at Domlur in the city. The MLC has been at the centre of a controversy in recent weeks after the opposition BJP claimed that the entries in his diary proved that payoffs had been made to top Congress leaders by CM Siddaramaiah to remain in his post.
The complaint was lodged on February 28 but the details were shared with the media after the case was registered. In his complaint, Mr Govindaraju said that when he was away in Goa, an IT raid was conducted on his residence on March 15, 2016. Later, the IT officials illegally brought him to his residence, he claimed.
"During the raid, the officials with malafide intention, seized illegally a document which does not belong to me or my family members. Thereafter, without maintaining the secrecy of the documents (seized), they shared details with my opponents. By doing so, they have breached trust. Therefore, I would like to request you to arrest the accused and initiate action legally," he said.
Having filed an FIR against A1 (accused number one-unknown) and accused number two-unknown), the Indiranagar police have launched an investigation, the FIR said.
