Can't stop those quitting Congress: M Mallikarjun Kharge
Bengaluru: Taking a swipe at former minister Kumar Bangarappa who has quit the Congress party after a long association, Congress party leader in the Lok Sabha, M. Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday asserted that there can be no stopping anyone who wants to leave the party.
"There can be no control over the choices one make. I can only say that it is nothing but disservice to the party which gave you more than what one could have aspired at that age. He is born in a free country, he is free to make his choice. There are many youngsters who still aspire to join the Congress, we will work with such people in future."
Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president and home minister, Dr G. Parameshwar asserted that he was not aware of the resignation of Mr Kumar Bangarappa from the Congress. "I will only react to his resignation after going through his letter," he snapped. Bangarappa is scheduled to join the BJP shortly.
