We are on a strong footing now: YSRC
KURNOOL: With Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu being pushed to the wall with no obvious allocations to AP in the recent budget, the YSR Congress Party says it is now on a “strong footing” to form the next government.
Denying the claims of TD that Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had an understanding with BJP, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, the political secretary of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, told Deccan Chronicle that there is no hiding the fact that his party is willing to go with BJP, provided it accepts the Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh. “We are very clear. Our line of thought is that Special Category status alone would help Andhra Pradesh grow. Accepting and implementing substantial provisions of the SCS would have no objection from our side,” he added.
He said that Naidu has dissipated all his lobbying skills on managing the media. Judiciary and other democratic institutions. Had he shown some interest in bringing pressure on the BJP government, the state would have got good allocations in the last full budget.
Sajjala questioned what were the two TD ministers in Modi cabinet were doing when budgetary preparation was on. It clearly shows Naidu has a different agenda than to bargain a few allocations to the state.
He said that Jagan’s padayatra had evoked enormous mass base support and a wide range of possibilities are offered from competing parties.
“we have our own base. Our opponent is weak. He has no face to show to the world for his monumental failure in abandoning state’s interests and pursuing individual interests”, he added.
