AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu decides to sever ties with BJP

The TD national president needs to play a vital role in the 2019 elections, like he did earlier, said a Minister.

Vijayawada: Though there are differences of opinion among the MPs over continuing the alliance with the BJP at the center, TDPP has arrived at a consensus over initiating a dialogue with non-BJP parties in southern states, Odisha, West Bengal and Bihar.

The TD national president needs to play a vital role in the 2019 elections, like he did earlier, said a Minister.

It may be recalled that while the Chief Minister was in the mood to take a firm stand on the relationship with the center and alliance with the BJP, his cabinet colleagues’ maintained silence, when the topic of discussion came up at a party co-ordination committee meeting.

Though the CM tried to elicit the feedback, opinions and observations from the Council of the Ministers, surprisingly no minister could voice their views on the subject. Then the CM quickly asked the party units in the districts through video conference, and noted down their views.

Srinivasa Reddy from Kadapa, and GV Anjaneyulu from Guntur have suggested to the CM to pull out from the alliance. The CM has an opinion that peoples’ trust was betrayed by the BJP, towards AP.

He narrated the sequences related to the alliance with BJP many times and twice with the non-BJP governments (National Front and United Front), at the center.
