Not leaving MP, Says Shivraj

Bhopal: Former chief minister and senior BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan has indicated that he saw no political career for him beyond Madhya Pradesh in the future.

Addressing the people in his home Assembly constituency of Budhni in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday evening, the four-time chief minister Mr Chouhan said that he would not leave Madhya Pradesh and would continue to serve people of the state in coming days.

His statement comes in the wake of Mr Chouhan mounting pressure on the Central leadership of BJP to rehabilitate him suitably in the party after his exit from the post of chief minister.

BJP has decided to appoint Mohan Yadav as chief minister of MP after the party retained power in the state with a massive victory in the November 17 Assembly elections in the state.

Significantly, BJP had not declared a chief ministerial face in the outgoing polls in the state and fought the elections in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

BJP secured 163 seats in the 230-member Madhya Pradesh Assembly in the polls, reducing the strength of Congress to 66.
