Kurnool: YSR Congress leaders in Kurnool district hope to ride on the popularity wave of Telangana state Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao in the upcoming general elections in the state.

Miffed at the campaign of AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in the recently-concluded Telan-gana elections, Mr Rao had said that he would also like to campaign in AP against the ruling TD as a ‘return gift’ to Mr Naidu.

Though no formal handshake was effected between YSR Congress president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and Mr Rao for campaign support, enthusiastic activists in Kurnool district started using the images of Mr Rao in their flexes and banners.

At Santhajutur village in Nandyal constitutency, flexes sprouted on the New Year’s eve with the pictures of Ms Silpa Chakrapani Reddy, Mr Rao and Mr Jagan Mohan. It is the desire of party workers to have Mr Rao on their side to defeat the TD government, said Ms Silpa.
