CM Siddaramaiah on Yogeshwar: He's a liar, never asked for funds
Bengaluru: Terming Channapatna MLA C.P. Yogeshwar a 'liar', Chief Minister Siddaramaiah accused him of not seeking any funds for development of his constituency in the last four and a half years. If Ramanagar district has progressed it is because of Energy Minister D.K. Shivakumar and his brother and MP D.K. Suresh, he claimed.
Speaking during the Navakarnataka Nirmana Yatra in Channapatna town on Wednesday, he claimed that Mr Yogeshwar was lying that major projects like the lift irrigation scheme and Kanva river project were sanctioned by the previous government. But these projects got financial assistance from the incumbent government, he said.
The sitting MLA, Mr Yogeshwar, who was invited for the function remained absent fearing he would be caught for telling lies to people. More than Mr Yogeshwar, Mr Shivakumar and Mr Suresh had done a lot to improve the district.
"The Channapatna MLA rarely attended the Assembly session and never asked questions. He did not seek any fund to improve his own constituency," the CM said.
Training his guns on BJP leaders, the CM said State BJP President B.S. Yeddyurappa was the first CM of Karnataka to go to jail on charges of misuse of office. The job of BJP is to divide society on caste lines and create communal tension in the districts. The government will not allow this to happen, he added.
