Naidu says voting Jagan to power again is like touching livewire

KAKINADA: Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu has warned that if people vote again for Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, they will be touching a livewire, as people have already committed the blunder of voting YSR Congress in 2019 elections.

He was addressing a public meeting at Nidadavole in East Godavari district on Friday evening as part of TD’s programme “Idemi Karma Ra Rashtraniki”.

The opposition leader pointed out that he has been an opposition leader for 14 years and also worked as chief minister for 14 years. “My worry is about the welfare and development of people. My aim is to protect the state and save people from demons,” he remarked.

Naidu maintained that he is trying to bring awareness among people about the anti-people’s policies of state government. “It is unable to pay farmers for paddy. Palm-oil farmers have been ruined. Aqua sector has been destroyed. All trades are suffering from losses. All these people should immerse YSRC into the Bay of Bengal,” he remarked.

The former chief minister maintained that Polavaram and Amaravati as capital are the two eyes of Andhra Pradesh. But Jagan ruined both these eyes. Development there has been stalled. Youth are suffering due to lack of jobs. He said as Telugu Desam leaders are protesting against such matters, police are being unleashed against them. “Jagan has destroyed all systems like police, education, health and finance,” he stated.

Before commencement of the meeting, a group belonging to TD leader K. Satyanarayana raised slogans in his favour. But another group owing allegiance to former MLA B. Sesharao group objected to it. Over this, Chandrababu Naidu observed that he would give ticket to a candidate only after receiving the nod from majority of the people.

Former minister K.S. Jawahar felicitated the Telugu Desam chief with a huge garland.

Naidu conducted road shows at Vemuluru, Pasivedala, Gownipalli, Mallavaram, Chandravaram, Markondapadu and Dharavaram before reaching Nidadavole.
