GVL to raise Vizag land scams in Parliament
He alleged that both the ruling YSRC and opposition Telugu Desam are equally involved in grabbing government lands
Visakhapatnam: Rajya Sabha member and BJP leader G.V.L. Narasimha Rao said he will raise Visakhapatnam land scams in Parliament to expose the involvement of political parties in these irregularities.
Talking to reporters in Visakhapatnam on Friday, the MP said there has been no response from AP government on Vizag land scams, though he had written a letter to the Governor, which had been passed on to the chief secretary for appropriate action. He said he would meet the Governor again on the issue.
He alleged that both the ruling YSRC and opposition Telugu Desam are equally involved in grabbing government lands. He wondered why senior politician and former TD minister Ayyanna Patrudu is maintaining silence though, on his recommendation, the then chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had appointed an SIT to probe the land dealings.
“We will go to courts and Parliament till the truth is established,” Narasimha Rao declared.
Speaking on Polavaram project, the Rajya Sabha member said Chandrababu Naidu has no right to comment on this mega project, as central government is financing it.
He pointed out that Telugu Desam, during its tenures, could not complete a single irrigation project. Vamsadhara, Thotapalli and Velugodu have remained static for decades. He accused ruling YSRC also of neglecting irrigation projects.
Narasimha Rao said the BJP had held three round table meetings in three different regions of the state to highlight the pending irrigation projects and has put those reports in public domain.
Replying to questions, the MP said he has spoken to the concerned ministry to extend 5G services in AP from April 2023. Further, the railway minister has assured to introduce Vande Bharat trains from Visakhapatnam to Tirupati, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
