Tamil Nadu CM to campaign in RK Nagar on December 6
Chennai: Chief minister Edappadi K. Palaniswamy is all set to campaign in the high profile RK Nagar assembly constituency on December 6 and the state ministers and senior leaders are also to take up the campaign from next week.
According to AIADMK sources, the chief minister is to tour the constituency next week and is again to revisit the voters during the third week of December.
Senior ministers and party MPs are also to be given a campaign schedule and every ward will be taken care of by an elected legislator to intensify the poll campaign and micromanage the party electioneering work, AIADMK sources said.
Meanwhile, the district election officer and corporation commissioner D Karthikeyan, who reviewed the poll arrangements here on Saturday, announced that the Election Commission has assigned additional poll observers to RK Nagar. A statement from the DEO said Alka Shrivastava and Khursheed Ahamed have been announced as the poll observers and they will be available for the voters to record their grievances and complaints.
The voters can also lodge their complaints through WhatsApp (75502 25820 and 75502 25821) numbers.
The public election department officials also installed the CCTV cameras at arterial locations. According to sources about 1,300 electronic voting machines are to be used for the by poll and the technical engineers from the public sector company has started checking the EVM machines. The randomisation and the fixing of ballot papers will start by the end of second week, official sources said.
