Hyderabad: Maddur police of Narayanpet district registered a case against minister Patnam Mahender Reddy, his brother, Kodangal MLA Patnam Narender Reddy and their associates for assaulting and abusing Congress workers including one of them belonging to SC Community in Boneed village on October 28.
They were booked under sections 448, 323, 504, 506 and Prevention of Atrocities against SCs & STs. The case came to light on Thursday.
Savari Srinu, the single window director in the complaint said that on the day of the incident, when he and a few other party workers were at the party office, the minister and MLA who were touring the village, saw them and instigated the BRS cadres on them.
Accordingly, BRS cadres barged into the Congress office and assaulted and abused Srinu and his party colleagues. Police are investigating.
