Ganta says people came out in midnight to welcome TD chief

Visakhapatnam: Former minister and Visakhapatnam North legislator Ganta Srinivasa Rao said TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu received an overwhelming response from people after his release from the Rajahmundry Central Jail.

He pointed out that it took 14 hours for Naidu’s convoy to reach Vijayawada. “People came out of their homes at midnight to give the former chief minister a warm welcome,” he underlined.

Addressing media at the district Telugu Desam Party office on Thursday, Ganta said YSRC leaders are unable to digest the tremendous response Chandrababu Naidu has received from people on his release.

The MLA termed as absurd a YSRC MP’s statement implying that Chandrababu will die in jail.

On Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s visit to Visakhapatnam, Ganta underlined that IT employees of Hill No. 3 had been inconvenienced even though the CM travelled by helicopter.
