Ex-TTDP chief Kasani Gnaneshwar joins BRS

Hyderabad: Former Telangana State TD chief Kasani Gnaneshwar joined the BRS in the presence of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Friday. Gnaneshwar had quit the TD on October 30 after the party leadership decided not to contest the Assembly polls.

The CM said that the BRS would give top priority to Mudiraj community leaders in nominated posts. Describing Gnaneshwar as a bigger leader than BJP MLA Etala Rajendar from the Mudiraj community, the CM accused the former leaders of suppressing leaders from the community.

Rao noted that he had taken the initiative to give a Rajya Sabha seat and and an MLC post to Banda Prakash, a Mudiraj community leader in BRS.

The CM promised to hold a meeting with community leaders soon after the polls to discuss the issue of increasing their political representation. He said Mudiraj community leaders would be given priority as Rajya Sabha and Legislative Council members.
