BRS Veers Towards Popularising Car Symbol

BRS taking all possible measures to avoid visual confusion with similar symbols

Nirmal: Worried over the possible visual confusion over the symbols similar to its party symbol, the ruling BRS is focusing on popularising its election symbol ‘car’ during the ongoing campaign after the Supreme Court rejected its plea seeking direction to the Election Commission of India not to allocate car-like symbols from its free symbols to independent candidates.

There are instances where unpopular independent candidates, who got symbols of road-roller, chapatti-maker, truck and camera that look like ‘car’, got a good number of votes in the last elections.

Taking serious note of this threat, the ruling party has been taking measures to avoid wrong voting in these Assembly elections which is touted to be a tough fight among BRS, Congress and BJP.

Giving more thrust on publicity by taking the symbol to the rural voters, the BRS has been displaying ‘car’ symbols prominently around the daises and on the podium at every public meetings 'Praja Ashirvada Sabhas' along with “Vote for Car” words in English and Telugu.

Apart from this, the KCR-led party has also been showcasing the Ambassador car painted in pink at the rallies to make the people, especially elderly voters familiar with the symbol.

All the party candidates were also taking special care for the same by plying it on roads to grab the attention of rural and urban voters the most.

Supporters of minister A. Indrakaran Reddy were seen making rounds with the ‘BRS Car’ with slogans “Shasinche vadu kadu, sadhinche vadu goppa nayakudu” (Achiever is the great leader, not the dictator) around the meeting places.
Surprisingly, the BRS slogans such as “Desh Ki Netha KCR” and “Ab Ki Baar Kisan Sirkar”, which were raised at the time of the party’s name change, have gone out of the scene at the party meetings these days.

It is found that even KCR in his speeches are more focused on farmers, Dalits, Minorities and other sections of Telangana and welfare and developed schemes BRS government initiated for the welfare of these communities.
