Top BJP leaders to finalise AP alliances: Purandeswari

VIJAYAWADA: BJP state president Daggubati Purandeswari on Tuesday reiterated that their party’s alliance with other parties in Andhra Pradesh will be decided by their top leadership, as theirs is a national party.

Speaking to the media after the state BJP’s core committee meeting here, she maintained that Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan had only expressed his opinion on his party’s alliance with Telugu Desam.

“We will take this to the notice of our party’s national leadership. BJP is not a regional party. The final decision will be taken only by the top leadership,” she underlined.

Purandeswari said their state executive committee meeting will be held soon. They are inviting party president J.P. Nadda and national sanghatana general secretary B.L. Santosh to attend it.

The state BJP president said as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, they distributed 10,596 Ayushman Bharat cards to the poor. They also agitated against issues like the diversion of gram panchayat funds, which a central government team has investigated.

Purandeswari disclosed that following its enquiry, the team arrived at a conclusion that funds had indeed been diverted.
