VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had allocated Rs 2,200 crore for taking up road repair works. Tenders are under process and repairs work will begin next month, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, public affairs adviser to the government, said on Saturday.

He recalled that during his tenure N Chandrababu Naidu had allotted only `800 crore and he had not carried out repairs. He wondered why Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan was questioning YSR government’s initiatives while he had been silent when Naidu gave a dam to roads and had laid or repaired a single road in five years.

Ramakrishna Reddy along with MP Alla Ayodhya Ramireddy, revenue minister Velampalli Srinivas, government whip Samineni Udayabhanu, MLCs Dokka Manikyavaraprasad Rao and Janga Krishnamurthy, MLA Talari Venkat Rao and others paid floral tributes to photos of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri in the YSRC central party office at Tadepalli on Saturday.

He claimed that even though the TD had not paid any bills to contractors, the YSRC government cleared those pending bills. He said that Jagan Moan Reddy has been fulfilling the gram swarajya vision of Mahatma Gandhi since coming to power. He recalled that YS Rajasekhara Reddy had always followed Gandhi’s principles and now Jagan Mohan Reddy was alos abiding by his ever relevant principles.

Ayodhya Ramireddy said that Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri were extraordinary visionaries and they had contributed immensely to the country’s development.

Manikyavaraprasad Rao, Udayabhanu, Appi Reddy and Krishnamurthy paid rich tribute to the two and said that the Chief Minister was working for the betterment of the poor, downtrodden and weaker sections.
