CPM alleges BJP bid to upset peace

The party believes that the yatra is a deliberate attempt to create trouble in the sensitive Kannur district.

Thiruvananthapuram: CPM on Monday mocked at Kummanam Rajashkeharan’s janaraksha yathra which will be flagged off by BJP national president in Kannur on Tuesday saying that other than blowing away a couple of crores of rupees collected through alleged commission received through demonetised notes, the march will not achieve anything. The party believes that the yatra is a deliberate attempt to create trouble in the sensitive Kannur district. The party suspects the motive behind the campaign especially when the law and order situation in the state as well as the district was normal. Kannur has not reported any major violence since the chief minister took the peace initiative.

Party cadres have been asked to maintain an alert during the yatra and not to fall prey to the provocative actions of Sangh Parivar elements “Like any party, the BJP also has the freedom to carry out its political campaign. But the BJP is only a mask. The real face is RSS which is organising the march with the motive of fomenting trouble in the state,” said CPM Kannur district secretary P Jayarajan. He alleged that the BJP was pumping crores janaraksha yathra and demanded a probe into the source of funds.

CPM leaders said the yathra was an attempt to divert people’s attention from Narendra Modi government’s utter failure. Whatever they may say about CPM but the things that immediately come to people’s mind about Modi government are price rise, hike in prices of petrol, diesel, LPG gas and essential commodities. The party said Amit Shah should take out padayatra in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajashtahn and Madhyar Pradesh where the law and order situation was worse compared to Kerala.
