Thiruvananthapuram: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's comments about Kerala government supporting anti-nationals for narrow political gains and chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s sharp response to it have prompted opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala and BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan to join the issue. While Mr Chennithala said Mr Pinarayi had failed to take any action against Sangh Parivar and the RSS for fanning communalism, Mr Kummanam claimed that Mr Pinarayi’s comments came out of remorse.
Mr Chennithala said the LDF government had not taken any action against Mr Mohan Bhagwat for defying the rules and hoisting the national flag in a school in Palakkad on Independence Day. “No action was taken against either Kummanam Rajasekharan who circulated a fake video to create tension among the people, or K. P. Sasikala, Hindu Aikya Vedhi president, who made a hate speech,” said Mr Chennithala. He added that the CM must stop putting up Facebook posts against the Sangh Parivar and act against them.
“Kerala will stand united if the government works for an RSS-free Kerala,” he said. Kummanam Rajasekharan on Monday alleged that the state was a safe haven for terrorists and both the UDF and the LDF were promoting anti-national forces for political gains. RSS state secretary P. Gopalankutty Master had also come down heavily on the Chief Minister, alleging that he was defending and supporting violence in the state.
