Opposition left with no issue for Assembly polls: Akhilesh Yadav

Yadav also said that as they were not willing to talk about development as an issue.

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Monday said the opposition was left with no issue for the state Assembly polls even as "some forces" are trying to divert people's attention to issues other than those of development.

Replying to questions, Yadav said, "The opposition is left with no issue. They do not want to talk about development. If one asks the BJP what it has done for Lucknow or Kanpur during its rule, they will be left answerless."

"We are working on the agenda of development, but the BJP wants to divert attention on other issues," he added.

The chief minister was talking to reporters after the inauguration of the new annexe building "Lok Bhavan" in the state capital.

"I hope decisions on people's interest will be taken in this building and samajwadis will continue to sit here," he said, as he congratulated the officers for the construction of the annexe in record time.

Yadav said that as the chief minister he tried to provide relief to all sections of the society.
