Kannababu ridicules Chandrababu's poll promises

KAKINADA: YSRC Kakinada district president and former minister Kurasala Kannababu ridiculed Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu’s poll promises and his claim that the cycle is unstoppable.

Speaking to media at his camp office here on Sunday, he underlined that people of Andhra Pradesh have broken the cycle to pieces in 2019 elections.

“There is no chance of regaining this cycle in 2024 elections. In fact, the cycle cannot be regained forever, as people have had bitter experiences during Chandrababu’s rule from 2014. People will not believe his false promises again,” Kannababu remarked.

He demanded that Chandrababu Naidu give a proper reply to income tax notices on how he earned ₹118 crore in the name of Amaravati capital. He maintained that to divert the attention of people from the IT notice, the TD chief is making false promises by convening unnecessary meetings in the name of party programmes.

Kannababu underlined that Chandrababu proposes to give “cards with promises that he would fulfil.” The former CM has made so many false promises that people are not believing him, he stated.

The former minister maintained that the TD chief has no right to criticise Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on prohibition of liquor. He pointed out that Chandrababu Naidu had lifted prohibition on liquor, which had been banned by late N.T. Rama Rao,

Kannababu maintained that Jagan is taking steps to control the consumption of liquor in the state.
