Chhattisgarh Made ATM of Gandhi Parivar, Says Amit Shah

Raipur: Accusing Bhupesh Baghel government of plundering Chhattisgarh, Union home minister Amit Shah on Saturday alleged that the state has been made the ‘ATM of Gandhi Parivar (family)’.

Releasing the ‘Arop Patra’ (chargesheet) of BJP against the Bhupesh Baghel government here ahead of the year-end assembly polls in the state, Mr Shah alleged that the state Congress government has broken all records of corruption to loot the state.

He listed out alleged scams related to coal, liquor, public distribution system (PDS) and online betting being probed by the Central agencies, and said that the Rs 2,000 crore –liqour scam unearthed so far by the Central agency was only a tip of iceberg and the scale of the scandal would be ‘much more’.

Mr Shah said that BJP, if returned to power in the state in the forthcoming assembly elections, would see that people indulged in these scams are hung upside down and brought to book.

He also accused the Bhupesh Baghel government of committing atrocities on people, saying that the state has done nothing to check religious conversion of tribals going on in Chhattisgarh.

“Only BJP can save Chhattisgarh from Congress’ scam, atrocities and misrule”, he said.

Referring to the recent exposure of online betting scandal linked to Mahadev App Book, he said that the youths of the state needed to decide if they want the Bhupesh Baghel government which pushed them to use online betting or the BJP which always works for development of the state.

Referring to the alleged growing cases of religious conversion of the tribals in the state, he said that the Bhupesh Baghel government always talked about protecting rights of tribals even as the religious conversions flourish in the state.

“BJP alone can protect and preserve rights and culture of tribals”, he said.

He took a jibe at chief minister Bhupesh Baghel for making lofty promises such as building world class schools, Gems and Jewellery Park, and Chhattisgarh seva gram in the line of seva gram established by Mahatma Gandhi in Gujarat, saying that all these projects are yet to see the light of the day.

Mr Shah said that the Congress has made 316 promises, but the Bhupesh Baghel government is yet to give accounts on the implementation of the 36 key promises made by it.

“Congress had taken oath to declare prohibition after coming to power in the state in the name of ‘Ganga Jal’ (sacred water). But, the Bhupesh Baghel government has committed a liquor scam worth Rs 2,100 crore”, he said.

He also slammed the state government for having failed to fulfil its promise of waiving crop loan of the farmers.
