GVMC polls likely in December, says Ayyanna Patrudu

He suggested workers and local leaders to complete booth and village-level committees.

Visakhapatnam: Minister for Roads and Buildings Ch. Ayyannapatrudu of the TD on Saturday said elections for the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) will most likely be held in December to ‘bury’ YSRC supremo Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy forever.

Addressing TD leaders and activists during the swearing-in of party office bearers (rural) here at NTR Bhavan, Ayyannapatrudu said: “People have a lot of faith in the TD for its development works in Nandyal and Kakinada and we are sure to win Vizag Corporation elections to pack off Y.S. Jagan and his party.”

Mr Ayyanna said the TD government would hold elections for Tirupati, Kurnool and Guntur corporations with a gap of three months for each in the run-up to the 2019 elections.

He suggested workers and local leaders to complete booth and village-level committees. Home Minister and in-charge for Vizag district N. China Rajappa said he skipped victory celebrations in Kaki-nada to participate in the swearing-in.
