Hyderabad: BJP Huzurabad MLA Etala Rajendar’s criticism of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao elicited a sharp reaction from TRS MLC Padi Kaushik Reddy, who termed the BJP man an "actor" in Huzurabad, a "joker" in Hyderabad and a "broker" in New Delhi.
"He acted in Huzurabad during the bypoll campaign and played with the emotions of people to gain sympathy. He is now being viewed as a joker in Hyderabad with his statements that he will contest against KCR in Gajwel and defeat him. After BJP national leadership made him chairman of the BJP joining committee, to lure leaders of other parties into the BJP, people are viewing Rajendar as a broker in Delhi," Reddy said.
He ridiculed Rajendar for his claiming that he would defeat the CM at Gajwel in 2023. "It looks as cheap as if I claim that I will contest against Narendra Modi and Amit Shah," he said.
Addressing the media at the TRSLP office on Tuesday, Kaushik Reddy challenged Rajendar to a debate at the Huzurabad crossroads on August 5, alleging a lack of welfare measures for Huzurabad during his tenure as TRS MLA from 2004 to 2021.
"Ministers Puvvada Ajay, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and Gangula Kamalalar developed their constituencies of Khammam, Banswada and Karimnagar. Rajendar owes an explanation to people why he failed (in Huzurabad). He was interested only in making money by misusing his power. He failed to construct even a bus stand in his native village of Kamalapur," Reddy said.
