KTR hits back at Bandi Sanjay on weavers’ insurance scheme
Hyderabad: A Twitter war ensued on Tuesday when textiles minister K.T. Rama Rao criticised BJP state president Bandi Sanjay for trying to take credit for the state government’s Nethanna Bima scheme, which provides Rs 5 lakh free insurance coverage for weavers from August 7.
Sanjay started it by Tweeting: “Sleeping beauty slumbered at Pragathi Bhavan, wakes up and announces Chenetha Bima after repeated nudging by BJP. One year ago, CM KCR announced and now again the same repeated by Twitter Tillu (referring to KTR's announcement of the scheme on Monday). Who is responsible for the delay and answerable to the kin of workers who suffered?”
Rama Rao tweeted, “Pretty rich coming from this joke of an MP who can't even get a Mega Power Loom cluster sanctioned for his own Parliamentary constituency at Siricilla. BS Kumar, Why don't you tell us what NPA Govt (referring to NDA as non-performing alliance) did for weavers in Telangana in the last eight years? Or you as an MP in Karimnagar? (sic)”
In another tweet on Tuesday, Rama Rao hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for imposing GST on handloom and khadi products.
He tweeted: “Sri Mahatma Gandhi Ji had used Charkha as a symbol of AtmaNirbarta and to inculcate Swadeshi spirit. Now Sri Modi Ji has achieved the dubious distinction as the 1st PM who imposed GST on Handloom and Khadi products. Is this the atmanirbarbharat & vocal4local that you preach? (sic)”
