Shilpa Chakrapani Reddy quits TD, to meet Jagan soon
Kurnool: In a major setback to the TD, Shilpa Chakrapani Reddy, former TD Kurnool district president and MLC, has resigned from the party.
This is a major blow to the party as it is preparing for the Nandyal byelections. The TD, however, termed it as a ‘development of no consequence’.
Somisetty Venkateswarlu, TD district president, said that it will not have any impact on the poll prospects of the party. He also said that people have understood the ‘conspiracy’ planned by the Shilpa brothers. Their game is totally exposed, he further said.
Shilpa Chakrapani Reddy, the younger brother of Shilpa Mohan Reddy, the YSRCP candidate from the Nandyal constituency, had a meeting with his brother on Sunday and decided to stay together.
He is expected to meet YSRC chief Jagan Mohan Reddy at the Lotus Pond party office to be formally inducted into the party, a source said.
“First, his brother left us and now his younger brother. It only shows they worked out a well-strategised plan to push us into crisis. But that would have no impact. Their game is totally exposed,” Mr Venkateswarlu said.
