TN BJP asks film stars to resolve film employees' problems, not talk politics

When the livelihood of so many members of the FEFSI is at stake the producers and the workers should work out an amicable solution.

Chennai: The state unit of the BJP tore into film stars talking about corruption in governance and asked them to set their house in order. Movie stars talking about politics should first solve the problems of the Film Employees Federation of South India (Fefsi) members especially the ongoing tussle between producers and employees rather than talk about politics, BJP state president Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has said.

With the strike against the Tamil Nadu Producers Council (TFPC) entering second day today, Fefsi has decided to seek the intervention of the Tamil Nadu government, besides veteran actors like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan.

“The prospects of about 23,000 film employees appears bleak while the film stars are talking more about politics instead of addressing the concerns of the industry. We have already told them (actors) to address the concerns of the film workers,” Dr Tamilisai claimed and said that she felt that the actors should strive for the wellbeing of the film employees before indulging in politics. When the livelihood of so many members of the FEFSI is at stake the producers and the workers should work out an amicable solution.
