Arrest BJP MLA Rajasingh, says AAP leader Somnath Bharti
Hyderabad: Former Delhi law minister Somnath Bharti and around 40 Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) activists have been detained when they staged a protest in front of the Hyderabad Police Commissioner’s office, deman-ding the arrest of BJP MLA Rajasingh for his alleged remarks supporting attacks on the Dalits in Gujarat.
Activists from a Dalit organisation lodged a complaint at Mangalhat police station against the Goshamahal MLA for his alleged comments. A case for promoting enmity between two groups under Section 153-A of IPC is registered.
According to AAP leaders said that the legislator had posted a two-minute video on his Facebook page in which he supported the attacks on people who committed Gauhatya.
The MLA had also threatened of the same treatment to people from any community, who resorts to gauhatya.
“While the whole nation is burning with the issue, why is Prime Minister Narendra Modi silent on this issue. Rajasingh is adding to fuel to it by making such comments. The AAP will continue to protest untill he was arrested.” Mr Bharti said.
