Centre Not Anti-TS: Kishan Reddy

WARANGAL: Union minister G. Kishan Reddy on Sunday said that the Central government does not discriminate against any state and did not do so against Telangana, accusing the BRS government of false publicity for self-gain and to tarnish the BJP’s image.

Kishan Reddy, accompanied by BJP state chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar and Huzurabad MLA Etala Rajender, was speaking at a press meet at Haritha Hotel after inspecting a site in Ayodhyapuram of Kazipet, along with railway officials, where a wagon manufacturing unit is to come up.

He said that there is no probability of changing the BJP state chief before the Assembly elections and outlined the agenda for the Prime Minister’s Warangal visit on July 8.

“After becoming the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi is going to visit the historic Warangal city, the place where the Kakatiya kings ruled, for the first time on July 8. He will offer prayers at Sri Bhadrakali temple. With the funds released under Smart City and Amruth projects, the BJP government is developing Warangal city,” he said.

Kishan Reddy said that the Central government will take up the reconstruction works of the Kalyana Mandapam of the famous Thousand Pillars temple under Modi’s auspices of the Prime Minister on July 8.

He said that during his visit, Modi will also lay the foundation stone for a four-lane national highway between Warangal and Karimnagar, at a cost of Rs 5,587 crore.

“The Central government is committed to the establishment of the Tribal University in Mulugu. It has sanctioned Rs 69 crore for the development of the Ramappa temple in Mulugu district, which was recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site,” he said.

“The BJP government is also ready to establish a Sainik School if KCR responds. But KCR, who boasted that the state government will establish the Bayyaram steel factory by itself, without the help of the Central government, did not take any initiative till date,” Kishan Reddy said.

Further, he said that the Central government is ready to take up the Regional Ring Road works expeditiously, provided the state government speeds up land handover to the national road authority.

On the site inspection, he said: “It has not been possible to establish a railway coach factory in Kazipet because of various reasons. In place of it, the Central government, with the orders issued by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, decided to establish a periodic overhauling centre along with a railway wagon manufacturing unit in Kazipet.”

“As many as 200 wagons will be manufactured every day in the unit that will be established in Kazipet, for which two acres of land was required in addition to the existing land. Once the wagon manufacturing unit is established, employment opportunities in Warangal will also increase,” he said.
