Revanth reviews arrangements for Rahul's meeting in New York on Sunday

HYDERABAD: To make a success of AICC leader Rahul Gandhi’s Indian Overseas Congress (IOC) meeting in New York on Sunday, TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy visited the venue, Jacob K. Javits Convention Centre. The meet is being organised by the Telangana chapter of IOC.

A day after his arrival, Reddy addressed the Telangana chapter of IOC in New Jersey on Friday. He interacted with prominent NRIs from Telangana, who had played a key role during the statehood agitation.

The deliberations were mostly about how the dreams and aspirations of the locals had not materialised even after the creation of Telangana State. Reddy dwelt at length about the role of NRIs in the upcoming Assembly elections in the state.

“For how long can the people of Telangana bear the exploitation by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao? All sections of the people had struggled for achieving statehood but only Rao’s family has benefitted from his corrupt practices in the last 10 years,” Reddy said.

Expressing delight at participating in the Formation Day celebrations in the United States, Reddy said, “KCR has left the state with a debt of Rs. 5 lakh crore. He has failed to make any material difference to the lives of people. He has been given a chance to rule twice but not a single promise has been honoured. The people’s aspirations will be met only if Congress comes to power.”

Reddy is expected to be back in the city on Tuesday, according to Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, TPCC vice-president, who is coordinating with the IOC Telangana chapter.
