HYDERABAD: BJP state president Bandi Sanjay alleged that the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) government was threatening farmers over forcible land pooling scheme in Warangal district. The police subjected third degree torture on a few farmers, who opposed land pooling, he said. Sanjay wrote an open letter to the state government to mend its ways and not to suppress the voice of people.

Farmers peacefully protested against the proposed land pooling in Warangal district, but police behaved rudely with them, he said. The police officers filmed the third degree act on the farmers and sent it to the ruling TRS leaders, Sanjay alleged. He demanded that the circle inspector and the sub inspector be suspended immediately and CCTV footage should be seized.

Sanjay assured them that they would support the victims till they got justice. BJP legal cell would extend its cooperation to farmers against the land pooling efforts of the government, he said. Meanwhile, BJP president also demanded arrest of the accused in rape of a minor girl in a pub. For the last five days, police did not arrest the accused and tried to weaken the case, he said.
