Nellore: Referring to the statements of BJP leaders on action against CM N. Chandrababu Naidu after the Karnataka elections, YSRC leader Ambati Rambabu expressed surprise over the BJP government’s silence even after the Karnataka elections were over.
Addressing partymen during YSRC’s Vanchana Py Garjana Deeksha here on Saturday, he alleged that there is some secret understanding between the BJP and theTDP.
Pointing to Naidu’s complaint that Narendra Modi had cheated him, he sarcastically said that both of them have duped the people of AP.
Thousands of YSRC men from different parts of the state took part in the programme, most of them targeted both Naidu and Modi on the Special Category Status issue.
Party chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, in a tweet, has also attacked the state and the Centre.
“Even four years after bifurcation, justice still eludes AP. Those in power both at the Centre & State have cheated AP & broken their promises by denying the rightful demand of SCS. The people of AP will teach them a fitting lesson in 2019 for their betrayal (sic),” Jagan tweeted.
Naidu has once again begun cheating the people of the state in the name of ‘Nava Nirmana Deeksha’, YSRC leaders said.
“Chandrababu Naidu indulged in massive corruption over the last four years, amassing wealth to the tune of Rs 3.5 lakh crores,” YSRCP leader Bhumana Karunakar Reddy observed.
“YSRCP is the only party to have fought for the Special Category Status (SCS) for Andhra Pradesh,” Karunakar Reddy reminded the gathering.
“YSRCP President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy set the tone for the fight for SCS in AP in the streets of Delhi,” he said.
"Naidu wrested lands from the farmers in the name of capital and he will be punished in the 2019 elections," he added.
"We have resigned from our posts for the interest of the state. The Centre should either provide SCS for AP or accept our resignations," YSRCP MP Vara Prasad said.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is an arrogant person, while Chandrababu Naidu is an incompetent Chief Minister and this is why the state was not given the SCS,” he said.
“In the name of Nava Nirmana Deeksha, Chandrababu Naidu is continuing his deceptions,” YSRCP senior leader and official spokesperson Botsa Satyanarayana said.
"Chandrababu Naidu is the biggest barrier for achieving SCS for AP. We are staging the Vanchana Garjana protests to inspire the people of the state in the fight for SCS," Botsa said.
