We will not meet Dhinakaran on bail, says D Jayakumar

There will be no change in this stand, Jayakumar told Deccan Chronicle.

Chennai: “We will not meet Dhinakaran when he arrives here after release on bail”, said senior minister D. Jayakumar signaling there could be some turbulence in the ruling AIADMK when the party deputy general secretary TTV Dhinakaran arrives here Saturday morning from Delhi.

“There will be no change in this stand. We will not swerve”, Jayakumar told Deccan Chronicle, making it clear that the Edappadi Palanisami cabinet and most of the ruling party legislators would boycott TTV when he returns from Delhi following the bail granted by the court in the case of alleged attempt to bribe the Election Commission for getting the party's two-leaves symbol.

Rubbishing Jayakumar's statement, AIADMK legislator Thanga Tamizhchelvan said TTV would receive a 'mammoth' reception by party members when he arrives at the airport Saturday morning. “We are over 100 loyalists here in Delhi waiting to receive him (TTV) when he comes out on bail now. And there will be more than 50,000 at the Chennai airport tomorrow. Who bothers about Jayakumar? We are all with TTV”, the firebrand MLA told DC.
