Communal forces won't be spared: CM Pinarayi Vijayan
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday said his government would not lower the guard against attempts being made by communal organisations to create disturbance in the state. He said the people of the state had given a huge mandate against communal forces and for safeguarding communal harmony and secular fabric of the society.
“We are committed to honour the mandate given by the people to fight against communal forces. There will be no compromise on the issue,” the chief minister said while addressing a public reception organised by LDF for the new Cabinet.
He said the communal forces were trying to create law and order problem. In the post election period, the state had witnessed a series of attacks by RSS.
“Narendra Modi and Amit Shah tried to turn Kerala into a laboratory of communal politics. They expected to capture Kerala by unleashing communal politics and pumping in crores. Initially they claimed the BJP-led front would get more than 70 seats. After getting to know the ground reality, they reduced it to a dozen seats. The BJP -RSS even collected crude weapons to celebrate their victory in these seats. But when the results went the other way, they unleashed attack in which Revenue Minister E Chandrashekharan was injured in Kanhangad. One was killed in RSS attack in Dharmadom,” he said.
Pinarayi said O Rajagopal's victory from Nemom was not because of BJP’s strength. Even the Congress booth agents within and outside the polling stations had disappeared on the poll day. “While BJP won Nemom, in return the Congress could win some places which it was expected to lose,” he said. The RSS which is known for rumor-mongering is trying its best to create trouble and people need to guard against their designs.
