YSRC high command pacifying sulking Balineni

VIJAYAWADA: YSR Congress high command is making efforts to pacify sulking Balineni Srinivas Reddy, former minister, who has resigned as the regional coordinator of YSRC for Chittoor, Nellore and Tirupati districts.

Balineni, who is a close relative of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, has been unhappy ever since he lost his post as minister. What rubbed salt into his wound is a continuation of Adimulapu Suresh of the Prakasam district in the state Cabinet.

While losing his ministership, the former minister had been allotted the districts of Chittoor, Nellore and Tirupati, whose party affairs are to be looked after him. However, he preferred to be the in-charge of the Prakasam district than the three districts.

However, as his request remained unattended, he resigned as being a party in charge of Chittoor, Nellore and Tirupati districts.

With the party high command not anticipating this, advisers to Chief Minister – Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and Dhanunjaya Reddy, called Srinivas Reddy two days ago. But he did not entertain their request to continue being the regional coordinator of the three districts.

The former minister has also been rankled even since April 12, when Jagan Mohan Reddy visited Markapuram for releasing funds for the EBC Nestham scheme. Security officials stopped Srinivas Reddy from getting onto the dais. In anger, he started leaving the meeting. Noticing this, Jagan Mohan Reddy called Balineni to the dais, provided him with a chair next to him and entered into a conversation.

With the intervention of Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and Dhanunjaya Reddy not succeeding in Balineni continuing as in-charge of Chittoor, Nellore and Tirupati districts, the Chief Minister intervened again. Following this, the former minister arrived at the CM’s Camp office on Tuesday and met Jagan Mohan Reddy.

According to sources, Balineni remains unhappy with the way he has been treated. Moreover, the government administration is not entertaining even his requests for clearing small works. Further, no one is caring for him at the party too.

Incidentally, after meeting the Chief Minister at Tadepalli, the former minister left for Hyderabad without meeting media people, who were present. He has been remaining in Hyderabad of late. Even there, he has chosen to be incommunicado.

Sources say the least Balineni wants is to be made in charge of the Prakasam district. However, that hasn’t happened yet.
