BRS govt failed to deliver water, funds and jobs: Bhatti

HYDERABAD: The BRS government has failed to fulfil its pledge of delivering ‘Neellu, Nidhulu, and Niyamakalu (water, funds, and jobs),’ stated CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka.

Bhatti stated that the state government has not built a single multi-purpose project, international airport, or outer ring road, nor has it established large companies to employ people. He asked where the Rs. 5 lakh crores that the state government borrowed had gone.

The state government has not repaired the Yadadri-Rajupeta road, which was built during the Congress government, and people are compelled to commute on potholed roads, he alleged. Further, Congress had designed the Tapasupalli project to supply Devadula waters to irrigate agricultural lands in Alair; this water was being diverted to Siddipet at the behest of Minister T. Harish Rao.

The CLP leader promised that the Congress if voted to power, would provide cooking gas cylinders for ₹500, waive loans and offer support prices to the farmers, as well as ₹12,000 in investment support to farmers every year, free and obligatory education for all, and medical treatment up to ₹5 lakh under Aarogyasri.

He promised that a job calendar would be released every year and that unemployed youth would be granted ₹3,000 until they get jobs. "We will finish the Pranahita-Chevella project and provide irrigation facilities to Alair under the Gandamalla project," he promised.

Promising to alleviate the plight of sarpanches under the BRS government, he stated that they were caught in a debt trap, forcing them to commit suicide. Meanwhile, weavers lamented that their hopes of getting yarn at discounted prices have been dashed. Instead, the state government was imposing a four per cent tax on the yarn while the Centre was levying an 18 per cent GST on cotton clothes.
