President of KPCC Eshwar Khandre: MP Kuba is unfit to be a gram panchayat member
Bidar: The Working President of KPCC Eshwar Khandre on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the sitting BJP MP of Bidar Bhagwant Khuba remarking that "he (Mr Khuba) is not fit to even become a gram panchayat member".
What provoked Khandre, who has been selected as Congress candidate for the Bidar LS seat, was Khuba's questioning of the Khandre family's contributions to the progress of Bidar district. Eshwar's father Bheemanna Khandre was a veteran leader of the Congress party who dominated district politics for over five decades since the late sixties.
Speaking at the Parivartana rally organised here after filing his nomination papers, Khandre attacked Khuba for seeking an answer to the issues raised by him. " Khuba has stooped low by questioning our family's contributions? My father, who is a role model for me, has made immense contributions in the areas of irrigation, education, cooperation etc. The credit for development of the district should go to my father. Five years back when Mr Khuba contested the Lok Sabha poll, he was not fit to contest even a gram panchayat poll. And after getting elected, he has done little for the constituency. Has he fulfilled his promise to get a civil airport for Bidar? Or build a memorial at Gorta or complete the railway pit line at Bhalki for which the foundation was laid during UPA rule?. On the contrary he is taking credit for the work done by our senior leader Mallikarjun Kharge. He should lose his deposit in this election, then only will Bidar district get a fair name," Khandre remarked.
