HDK erred in taking Amby’s mortal remains to Mandya, says JD(S) MP

Don\'t believe Darshan Tugudeepa or Mr Yash, who are actively campaigning for her. Mr Darshan is not a big actor when compared to Puneet Rajkumar.

Mandya: The ongoing political campaign in Mandya hit a new low on Tuesday with sitting MP of the JD(S), L R Shivaramegowda contending that Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy had made a blunder in bringing the mortal remains of the late former minister, M H Ambareesh to Mandya city to let the people pay their last respects to him as the large turnout that day had prompted his widow, Sumalatha to contest the LS poll as an independent from the constituency. .

Addressing party workers here, he also scoffed at the 'Mandyada gandu' 'and "daana veera Karna" titles given to the late actor/politician, saying that he himself was the real 'Nagamangala gandu' as Ambareesh had made no contribution to Mandya

Going on to take a dig at Ms Sumalatha, Mr Shivaramegowda wanted to know where she was when her husband was at the peak of his political career as she was never seen with him for years and did not come to Mandya to even vote. "But now, after her husband's death, she has come here to contest the Lok Sabha poll, shedding crocodile tears to emotionally blackmail people. The people of Mandya are not fools to fall prey to such a big drama," he said.

Not stopping there, the JD(S) MP said Ms Sumalatha was not a 'Gowdathi' as she claimed after marrying Mr Ambareesh, but a Naidu and her secret agenda was to give her community control of Mandya and sideline the powerful Vokkaligas.

Claiming the Naidu community had already taken control of Bengaluru city, he went on to speak even more derogatorily of the actress, saying, "Sumalatha touring talkies will pack up on April 18 and she will totally disappear from Mandya like former MP, Ramya aka Divyaspandana. We don't want Sumakka or Pamakka....we want Mr Nikhil Kumaraswamy, son of the CM, who is here to stay. Don't believe Darshan Tugudeepa or Mr Yash, who are actively campaigning for her. Mr Darshan is not a big actor when compared to Puneet Rajkumar."

Responding to his remarks, Mr Darshan said, "Yes I am a junglee and I am a Naidu. What's wrong with that? .Is it a mistake to belong to the community? I don't want to comment on Shivaramegowda comparing Ms Sumalatha to a touring talkies. If you vote for Sumalatha you will be putting a big full stop to caste politics," he concluded.
